Francesca Anderegg is quickly establishing a name for herself as one of America's finest young interpreters of the music of our time.
A versatile musician, Ms. Anderegg is equally at home as a soloist, orchestral violinist and chamber music artist. She made her New York debut in February 2007, performing the Ligeti Violin Concerto with the Juilliard Orchestra under the baton of Diego Masson. The New York Times lauded her performance for its "dark, mournful tone" and "virtuosic panache." Often serving as concertmaster of the Juilliard Orchestra, she led the performance of the world premiere of Paul Schoenfeld's "Channah" in February 2006. Her chamber music credits include performances in major New York venues with Itzhak Perlman and members of the Perlman music program.
She was a prizewinner in the 2005 Corpus Christi International Competition. In the summers, she has participated in The Perlman Music Program, Tanglewood Music Center, Kneisel Hall, and the Aspen Music Festival. She graduated from Harvard University in 2005, where she was the president and manager of the Brattle Street Chamber Players. She holds a Master's degree from The Juilliard School, and is currently a C.V. Starr Doctoral Fellow at Juilliard as a student of Robert Mann.
This season's highlights include chamber music with Itzhak Perlman, performances of the music of Elliott Carter, and collaborations with Pierre Boulez and the Lucerne Festival.
